Holding On
Holding On
Holding On is a community portrait book exploring how we hold one another.
Photographed on traditional 35mm film, the project brings together around 100 people who participated in pop up photo studios at Overlook Historic House and the Portland Art Museum. Through hands held, hands resting, and hands carrying meaningful objects, these portraits reflect stories of connection, memory, care, and belonging.
Printed in risograph, the book offers a tactile experience of the photographs, with textured ink and tonal variations that give the printed edition its distinctive character.
